Lewis's diamond-studded crash helmet from this year's Monaco Grand Prix has been donated to the Great Ormond Street Formula 1 party charity auction, which takes place at London's V&A museum on Wednesday 17th June.
The fundraising event celebrates the official launch of the Santander British Grand Prix and brings together the sport's biggest personalities and stars of television and pop music ahead of the world famous Silverstone event on June 19-21.
Steinmetz's glamorous customised helmets have already become part of the folklore of the Monaco Grand Prix weekend. For the past four years, Steinmetz has collaborated with McLaren to create stunning and unique diamond-themed artworks.
For this year's event, Steinmetz celebrated Lewis's world title by embossing his crash helmet with a giant #1 inscribed with the Forevermark icon and unique identification number - the promise of exceptional quality and integrity.
